This coat is true to size. I am 80kg 173cm height and bought a XL. The coat has sufficient room for mid layers without losing its feminine shapeliness. Do be aware that the Black is really a smoke/grey or charcoal colour but still looks fab. It’s expensive but ideal as urban wear in colder weather.

I bought this coat in spring 2020, taking a chance considering the bad reviews of its zips. It is a lovely coat but the zip broke this morning after less than 9 months and easy wearing. I DO NOT expect such poor quality fittings on such an expensive coat. The good toggles are also very poor quality. This is the last piece of Arcteryx I will buy – it’s a shame because when I first started buying the brand years ago I was very impressed. Their quality has plummeted but their prices are the same so time to move on.

This parka is PERFECT for times when it’s cold (-1C)/rainy/flurrying. I wore it a few days ago when the weather was doing exactly that, and the parka kept me warm & dry. I didn’t even need to layer (as opposed to if I were wearing my Codetta rain jacket). Some reviewers commented that this fits large, I don’t find this to be the case at all (I’m 5’7, 120lbs, and am an XS in all tops). This parka will for sure accommodate chunky sweaters/sweatshirts too.

It was time to replace my Canada Goose Kensington and I spent a lot of time looking around. It didn’t seem to me that I needed to spend that much money to get a quality parka. I love the Patera. The fit is perfect. It looks sleek but still leaves room to add a layer underneath if it gets colder so it is great for city life no matter how cold it gets. It also looks stylish enough to wear out.

Je suis 100% satisfaite de mon achat. La couleur est magnifique (n’oit saphir) et la taille parfaite. Je fait 5 pieds et 7 pouce, 145 lbs trs athltique et je suis parfaite dans le medium.

I am an avid fan or Arcteryx and it pains me to write that this isn’t my first product that has had zipper issues. The zipper pull tab broke off, and as others have said, my jacket does not zip all the way up and if it does (with extreme difficulty) the zippers teeth come apart.

This is the only jacket I’ve ever bought two of! I’m a little sad about all the negative reviews because I hope arcteryx keeps making this jacket forever! I bought my first on about 7ish years ago when I moved to montreal and it was the PERFECT parka for the cold winters there. I bought my second one about a year ago when I moved back to Vancouver and it’s a bit overkill but it’s so stylish and it keeps me cozy and dry. My first parka was a size M and my second one was a S and I think they fit about the same so I would try it on before buying. I love the fit of this coat! I’m tall (5’8″) with a long torso and it has a fitted look in the waist and it’s long enough to keep my bottom half warm. I also had problems with the zipper on my first coat but Arcteryx was AMAZING about replacing it (they even patched up a hole I had in the lining that my puppy created). Idk if their policy around zippers has changed recently. Overall I love this coat so so much!

10 stars for this massive hood with slight bill. The coat is very stylish and flattering. This is definitely a city persons coat… very slick. It will definitely keep me dry and seems reasonably warm, though I’ll need to layer for sure. Only change I’d ask for on it are more pockets. IMO, all winter coats should have an interior AND exterior chest zip pockets, along with low interior mesh or sling pockets for something like a hat. True to size.

The jacket has met all expectations and truly appreciated.

This is likely the warmest jacket I have ever owned. Love that it’s not as bulky as other competitor brands of jackets. It’s thinner and lighter but does not lack in warmth! I did have to size up, my chest size is in between sizes, but the fitting was so nice it looked perfect!

I have an earlier version of this coat and it never fails to keep me warm, dry and looking super stylish at the same time. The attention to detail of Arc’teryx’s design is fantastic, it’s a fantastic coat that has seen me through 6 winter seasons and it still looks as good as new. Well worth the investment.

I love the new color Box Car! I’ve tried this coat in so many times – cozy warm, wind/rain proof, and very flattering on 5’3 hourglass figure, 140, size M (room for layers)
Mandy –
This is my favorite winter coat. I love that there is down on the inside, but GoreTex on the outside
Coreloft R –
Buy this parka!!! I cannot wear down. This is the warmest (-35’C plus) and best you can buy! I love it! Plus it is very fashionable and a comfy fit too!
Raccoon365 –
This is the best parka ever. It is very warm, yet the weight is light. The surface is GORE TEX which will definitely protect me from rain and snow in New England. The new color, Boxcar, is outstanding in winter when black outwear dominates. All the specifications of this parka are amazing. You will never regret.

I bought more for my mom and it’s her second Arc’teryx parka so far. She is happy with it. My dad and me have a Therme Parka.
Mountain G –
Only purchased this a couple of weeks ago and it hasn’t been very cold yet, but so far I am pleased with it. I have been searching for a warm, waterproof coat for a while and have tried on many coats in the search. I really like the cut of the Patera Parka. It’s nice to have a practical coat that I can wear around town without looking like I’m off up a mountain.
As other reviewers have said, the poppers feel a little bit cheap for the price of the coat but only time will tell if they are up to the job. Not a fan of the colours so ended up with black.
Joana –
Your winter coat is essential in the winter months. Hands down best coat! The quality and warmth is top tier. This coat is worth every penny it is extremely warm and light weight. I would stick with your regular size and you’ll have room for layering and won’t feel it snug.
Yellowline –
I bought this parka recently and it is my favorite so far! It is very warm and not heavy at all. The length is perfect. I found the sleeves to be abit tighter fit tho. I saw some concerns about the Zipper before I bought it but I don’t have any issues with the Zippers at all. They might improved it this season.
Arcteranna –
This parka is my favourite to wear during the fall, winter. Keeps my upper body and thighs warm all season. Fits slightly big, but i tend to have a mid and base layer under, so it works out. Note for shorter people, the parka will be knee length over thigh length

This jacket has been better than I expected. It is form fitting, but not restrictive. Doesn’t look bulky, and a really nice length. I’m 5’4 and the length is just above my knees. It’s also been very warm with minimal layers underneath which I love!
Jds33 –
I’ve had this coat for nearly two years and it is so warm and comfortable. I don’t need to wear a sweater under it when the temperature is above 30. The coat is so light which is surprising considering the outer goretex layer. It is just a tad long on me (I’m 5’3″) but others have told me that it doesn’t look too long.
Samantha –
I have been wearing the Patera Parka as my everyday winter coat for the past few months in Ottawa, Ontario. It’s definitely become my new go-to. The level of warmth is perfect for running errands in the city and I can add some layers underneath for some extra warmth when walking my dog. The pockets are a good size and I love the zipper so I know nothing will fall out. I’m usually either size XS or a S at Arc’teryx, depending on the item. I found the XS to be a little too tight in the arms, and the S is a little roomy, but I don’t mind as it gives me room to layer underneath and the silhouette still looks fitted.
Shredica –
I added the black Patera jacket to my wardrobe this winter and it’s quickly become a staple in my work attire. Not only does it keep me incredibly warm with its cozy down insulation, but the sleek GORE-TEX outer shell also ensures breathability, making it perfect for transitioning from the outdoors to the office without breaking a sweat.
One of the best parts about this jacket is how stylish and versatile it is. Whether I’m commuting to work, running errands around town, or on long walks with the dog, I always receive compliments on its sleek design. Plus, knowing that my mom in Canmore also invested in the same jacket speaks volumes about its quality and performance.
No matter how chilly it gets outside, I never have to worry about being cold in this jacket. It provides the perfect balance of insulation and breathability, keeping me comfortable and cozy all day long. If you’re looking for a jacket that combines warmth, style, and functionality, the Patera jacket is definitely worth considering.
Vivi101 –
I bought this jacket a few years ago and have been wearing it in Vancouver. Not only is it good for winter, but also perfect for fall and spring here. The jacket’s material is waterproof and protects me from the rain and wind, but also super lightweight and doesn’t overheat me like my Canada Goose jacket would in the past. It’s very form fitting and has a nice slimming look. I feel really satisfied with this jacket and it’s one of my favourites from Arcteryx!
