I have 4 original (?) Cormac shirts which I wear regularly in cool weather and 1 original sun hoody I’ve been wearing more often recently. My wife liked the hoody, so we just ordered one for her. Although the overall shape is similar, the changes are many. The biggest is the fabric – it’s lighter and you can see through it a bit easier – an issue for my wife. The lighter fabric may also be less durable. Lastly, the shirt is not as classy – seen in the sewing around the hood (properly wide before) and under the arms (no longer a smooth finish). Your may still like the new shirt, but it has lost its magic for me. In hindsight, it perhaps deserved a new name.

Bought this for mountaineering in Lake District, it’s light and the hood stops the sun beating down on your head

My son finally received his late Christmas present and is very happy with the hoody. He does a lot of running and biking in CA and this hoody will give him some sun protection.

One of the few things, they do really well. Textiles like shirts, pants, etc. would recommend

Bought this before heading on a trip to Mexico a few months back. I’m a big guy and the sun usually folds me. But with this piece of kit I was able to keep in the shade, get it wet and keep me cool all while looking stylish. (lets by honest… the logo alone is enough to give this piece of kit a ‘level up’). I know own 2.

This is the second Cormac Hoody I’ve purchased made of the new fabric. Love these for hiking, water, whatever when you need full sun protection. Thus far they haven’t snagged on anything, are not abraded by pack straps, no smell after extended wear, dry quickly, wick well, and noticeably block the suns rays. I bought XLs (6′, 195, big chest/shoulders) and these fit me the best. I could wear a large but the XL shoulders and sleeves were more to my liking. I’d certainly buy again.

I am very pale so having a full coverage UPF shirt is a godsend. The hood is also great to fend off black flies and mosquitoes at the crag. I’ve ground this against rock and still no holes. Breathes great.

This is my first Cormac item from Arcteryx. A few years ago I purchased a Motus long sleeve t-shirt. I took both pieces to Florida in mid-August. Weather for the week was 94 – 99 degrees and really humid. The cormac hoody was noticeably more comfortable to wear than the motus long sleeve top. The cormac hoody certainly breathes better in my experience. I will be buying more when my budget allows it and/or when sales pop up.

Fits as expected, great material, love the logo. The hood could always be a little bigger as i have long hair and wear hats while climbing. But not bad enough for complain.

At first I was worries because some reviewer mentioned the fit was off. Some other spoke about the overall quality and threads popping.
As usual, the fit is good for me and the quality is as expected. Took the hoody out for a run in full sun and it felt great. It definitely felt cooler than some of my other running shirts. I definitely like the white colour as I think it contributes to the cool feeling.
The thumb loops are a great thought for when it gets colder and because of the longer sleeves I dont feel like om tugging on the garment while using the loops.
Overall, I like the shirt a lot.

Solid base layer – did a Via Ferrata on a hot day followed by a solid ridge hike, always felt comfortable. Roomy hood for a climbing helmet and keeps the sun off your neck! Highly recommended!

Great long sleeve especially for warmer temperatures but also protected against the sun. Use it for climbing, mountaineering, biking and urban. Size fit perfectly (size S for 170cm body length).

Perfect sun hoodie for trail running/high output activities. Used on a two day backpacking trip back in August and it was super breathable and provided a ton of sun protection. I usually wear an XS but sized up for a more loose fit.

I’ve been wearing this for the last 4 months about 4 times a week. I was working at a summer camp and needed protection from the sun especially when driving boats for multiple hours a day. It’s very comfy and the fit is loose without being baggy. Kept the sun off just like expected and the hood was super nice to have, I especially like the shape of the neck line. I wore mine for days on end in 100+ F heat and never felt like I was overheating or noticed that the shirt would start to stink. I did get some stains on it relatively easy but I would blame that on the color being white so I’d say I asked for that myself. Have had no problems with quality of any kind and price is comparable to other sun shirts from brands like the north face.

Bought this as a mid-weight layer for cooler days…or nights. Wore it with a vest on a cool Fall morning and it was perfect for 45-60 degrees. Fits great and looks great!
Matthewcoolestever –
really enjoy this, was nice and comfy and offers good protection. wore under motorcycle jacket and helmet for protection from sun and to keep earplugs on when keeping helmet on.
Mc13 –
Have two of these and will definitely get more. Easily my most worn and my go to base layer. Super comfortable against the skin even with packs on, dries quickly, and protects from UV. Thumb holes are a great feature to keep the sleeves from riding up.

Bought this product for sun protection during the central Oregon summer fishing season! Like all Arcteryx products like have purchased they never disappoint
Zarb1 –
Love this hoody. The perfect weight for all activities. I really like the brimmed hood!

I bought 2 of these and I wish I’d bought more since they sold out pretty quickly. It’s breathable, fits well and it give good protection from the sun.
Dukeofme –
Love the Cormac family. I started with the tee, then a long-sleeve, now the Hoody for the trifecta. The breathability and wicking performance are next level. How quickly the top dries I can only describe as magic.
I thought hiking under a hood and long-sleeves might be too hot- I was wrong! I was actually waaay more comfortable and cooler, even with a cap underneath, as I wasn’t directly exposed to the sun. For the same reasons, I now use this top for paddleboarding given how quickly it dries. I can take a dip, be back on the board and dry again in no time.
Only con I’ve found is that if there is wind, you can feel it through the shirt. This isn’t always a bad thing though, especially if you’ve worked up a sweat as it promotes drying and if I’m on the trail I’ll simply throw on a shell.
I wear a size Large. I’m 6’2 with long arms and find the sleeve and body length just right.
Bigcountry –
Wouldn’t go into the alpine without it. Fits over helmet, loose fit is great for sunny medium output days.
